Refund Policy

Introduction

BSA Charitable Trust is committed to transparency and accountability in all its operations, including the handling of donations. We understand that circumstances may change, and donors may need to request a refund of their contribution. This policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds may be considered and the process for making a request.

General Principles:

  • BSA Charitable Trust does not offer refunds for donations made to support ongoing programs or specific projects. These funds are immediately allocated to the intended cause and used to make a positive impact.
  • Refunds may be considered for donations made in error or under false pretenses. This includes situations where the donor provided incorrect information, was misled by inaccurate information provided by BSA, or made a duplicate donation.
  • All refund requests must be submitted in writing to the BSA Charitable Trust office within 30 days of the donation date. Requests received after this deadline will not be considered.
  • The decision to grant or deny a refund request rests solely with the Board of Directors of BSA Charitable Trust. The Board will carefully consider each request based on the merits of the case and in accordance with this policy.

Circumstances for Refund Consideration:

  • Donation made in error: If you made a donation by mistake, such as entering an incorrect amount or duplicate payment, you may be eligible for a full refund.
  • Misleading information: If you made a donation based on inaccurate information provided by BSA, you may be eligible for a full refund.
  • Force majeure: If a major unforeseen event, such as a natural disaster, prevents BSA from fulfilling its commitments to the project or program you donated to, you may be eligible for a partial or full refund.

Refund Process:

  1. Submit a written request: Please submit a written request for a refund to the BSA Charitable Trust office. Your request should include the following information:
    • Your name and contact information
    • The date and amount of your donation
    • The reason for your request
    • Any supporting documentation, such as copies of receipts or emails
  2. Review by the Board of Directors: The Board of Directors will review your request and make a decision within 30 days. You will be notified of the decision in writing.
  3. Refund issuance: If your refund request is approved, the funds will be returned to you using the same method as the original donation, if possible. Otherwise, you will be contacted to arrange an alternative method for receiving your refund.
  4. Refund Will be processed within 5-7 days.

Additional Information:

  • BSA Charitable Trust reserves the right to deny any refund request that does not meet the criteria outlined in this policy.
